Vessel washing
The aim is always BETTER washing NOT MORE washing
- In many cases the largest cost of washing a vessel is lost production
- The cost of water or detergent disposal is much higher than purchase
- e.g nanofiltration for detergent recovery
- It may be possible to optimise washing with the help of analytical techniques
- colour or turbidity of earlier rinses
- Consider re-use of final (and possibly second) rinses from the cycle
- ensure microbiological growth is not a problem
- intermittent rinse flow and drain with no flow
- ensure microbiological growth is not a problem
- Is it possible to find cheaper water for rinsing?
- borehole or untreated mains water?
