Odour

May be a problem in the wort boiling process

The dispersion of odour is the priority. Consider:

• stack height
• what is the effect of nearby buildings?
• exit velocity from stack software modelling of dispersion pattern
• perfuming agents cannot be a permanent solution

In extreme cases treat the odorous stream with:

• absorption / adsorption
• incineration
• plasma treatment

Odour from effluent treatment may be reduced by aeration or shielding

Decoction mashing may also cause odour problems
