Confirm equipment uses water at its recommended consumption

• if higher usage then savings are possible
• operate according to manufacturer’s instructions

Consider water efficiency through re-use:

• first rinses
• kegging line equipment rinsing
• external keg rinses

Consider adjusting the washing cycle timings according to keg size

Consider options for optimising washing of individual kegs

• keg type by product type
  • some products may be more likely to be very dirty
• Individual keg tracking systems
  • Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)
  • enables automated control of e.g. extended clean for a keg a long time in trade
