Brewing - water
Cleaning of open ale fermenters
If fermenters are cleaned manually (e.g. ale fermenters in the UK) consider employing brushes or squeegees before wet washing
- Pressure washing will require less water
- Consider china clay paint in ale fermenters
- reduces adhesion of wort solids to vessel walls
- Consider foam or gel detergents for ale fermenters
- reduce water usage
- Clean immediately after processing to avoid hardening of deposits
