Re-use of rinses
Screen out solids from returned ullage. This will enable:
- Reduced effluent treatment problems
- Possible beer re-use if pasteurised
- consider product quality issues
- Increased ability to re-use rinse waters. Consider re- use by:
- first rinses
- conveyor washing (and other equipment on the line)
- external cask rinses
Collection troughs for water
- enable re-use of the rinse waters as above
- ensure they operate effectively (suitably sized and placed)
Consider the possibility of not employing detergents
- water savings through reduced rinsing requirements
- may require more hot water rinsing however
Recirculation of detergents
- by continuous purging of contaminants or periodic empty and refill
