Corrosion

Corrosion is minimised by use of chemicals

• alkaline pH
• oxygen scavengers
• amines

Note that use of such chemicals increases the blowdown requirement

• hence weigh up the benefits

Ensure water specifications are met, else:

• carryover (high water and dissolved solids in the steam)
  • causes fouling and loss of efficiency
