An Introduction to Food Law
This course provides a valuable introduction to the UK and EU law controlling food and drink manufacture and marketing. The course would be beneficial for those new to the food industry or those wanting a broad overview of the practicalities of food legislation. This training would be particularly appropriate for food quality assurance and product development personnel.
At the end of the course delegates will:
• Be aware how legislation is developed, applied and enforced
• Have an understanding of the practical implications of food law for their business
• Be able to access current legislative information

Food and Drink Labelling
This course provides an in-depth consideration of the most up-to-date UK and EU laws, as well as information on good practice relating to food labelling. The course is designed for those who generate product labels, sign off art work or have managerial responsibility for these functions. The training will also benefit those new to food labelling who need to acquire a comprehensive understanding of how to generate compliant labels.
At the end of the course delegates will:
• Be able to interpret relevant food and drink labelling legislation and know when to seek advice
• Understand how to implement current food and drink labelling legislation in their business in order to generate compliant labels

Weights and Measures
This course deals with the quantity control of food and drink. Although quantity control rules apply to the production and marketing of most food and drink, the detailed and complex legislation can often be bewildering to the non-specialist. The course will be of particular benefit to production and quality assurance staff in companies whose products are sold by weight or volume.
At the end of the course delegates will:
• Understand the complicated weights and measures legislation
• Have the confidence to review their current systems and assess their efficiency and effectiveness
Beer Labelling Requirements
This course outlines the specific regulatory labelling provisions for beer (including cider, perry and other similar beverage products) currently in place in the UK and EU. The course will benefit individuals in regulatory, marketing or design roles who have labelling responsibilities. Subject areas include: general food labelling, product names, allergen labelling, gluten free and organic claims, ingredient declarations and GM specific labelling, weights and measures declarations, health warnings and voluntary labelling.
At the end of the course delegates will:
• Be able to interpret and apply relevant legislation
• Have a clear understanding of how to produce a legal beer label
USA Food and Drink Labelling Course
This course provides and in-depth view into those labelling requirements and help delegates understand how to translate their EU label in to a US label. Focussed on up-to-date American legislation, this course is designed for those responsible for designing or managing artwork in companies.
At the end of the course, delegates will:
• Be able to find and interpret relevant United States labelling legislation and know when to seek advice
• Understand how to generate compliant labels for the United States market within their business
• Recognise aspects of non-compliance to avoid costly misbranding errors
Food Law - Food Improvement Agents Package
The course will provide an in depth understanding of the legal framework relating to food additives, Enzymes and Flavourings and will clarify the changes that the Food Information to Consumers Regulation has brought about for additives labelling. Aimed at those with responsibility for new product development but also those who are involved in the marketing of pre-packed foods containing additives.
At the end of the course delegates will be able to:
• Search for and locate additives in different food categories;
• Understand the conditions of additive use and where restrictions apply;
• Apply the knowledge of the additives legislation during development of new products.
