Latest research – cold atmospheric plasma
A series of trials have been carried out to examine the
feasibility of using a cold atmospheric plasma system as a
decontamination tool for food contact surfaces and food
products. The focus of the work was on stainless steel,
conveyor belts and strawberries. Initial findings suggest
that, if conditions are optimised, a three–day extension of
shelf life of strawberries could be obtained.
