Dr Gail Betts from our Microbiology Department was recently invited to participate in a National Reference Laboratory meeting in France, hosted by ANSES, the French Community Reference Laboratory for Listeria. The meeting discussed protocols for Listeria challenge testing, as part of work to produce a guideline for EU-wide distribution. We were the only non-reference laboratory invited to the meeting, which is an indication of our key role in providing challenge testing services for the industry, particularly Listeria challenge testing.
