Member Service Accounts (MSA)

At the start of each membership year, 20% of your membership fee is automatically placed into a Members Service Account which we open for you. The funds in your MSA can be used for a variety of applications and enables you to speed up your dealings with us by cutting down on administration.

What can MSA be used for?

The funds in the MSA can be used against most of our services including technical, scientific, and legislative advice or enquiries, consultancy, contract work, training courses, symposia, and Campden BRI publications. Please note that unless otherwise agreed in writing our services are supplied to our standard terms and conditions of supply of goods/services (as amended from time to time). Please note: You are not able to set MSA against your next membership fee invoice.

MSA frequently asked questions

Q How do I use my MSA?

A

You can request to use the funds of your MSA for any of the above mentioned services: all you need to do is advise the person you are dealing with, by telephone or email that this is what you require.

Q When I call/authorise use of my MSA what information should I have to hand?

A

It is really helpful to know your membership Number. This is a 6 digit number beginning with 88 e.g. 88XXXX.

Q Do I need authorisation from within my own company to access the funds in the MSA?

A

Some member companies control the use of their MSA by stating that authorisation for use must be obtained in advance. If you wish to do this please contact the Membership team and an authorisation note will be placed on your account. If your company has done this you will be advised who you need authorisation from when you wish to use the account.

Q What is the procedure when the account balance is running low/out of funds?

A

If your account is running low you may have insufficient funds to pay for the service you require. Similarly, if Campden BRI personnel advise you that your account has run out of funds, then the solution is a top-up of the account.

Q How can I check my current MSA balance and/or top up my balance?

A

You are able to view your current MSA balance by logging into 'My account', alternatively you can contact the Membership team who will be happy to advise you of your current balance.

Q Can I top-up my MSA balance?

A

You are able to 'top up' your account at any time, please contact the Membership team and we'll arrange this for you. The minimum amount you can top up the account with is £500 – there is no upper limit. Please take into account your usage rates and when you are next due for renewal. You may need to provide a Purchase Order Number if required by your organisation. Contact the Membership team if you would like to discuss this further.

Q Is my remaining balance carried over into my new membership year?

A

Only funds remaining from a purchased ´top-up´ will automatically be carried over into your new membership year. If you have not made a top-up and have some of your 20% allowance remaining - this will not be carried over! So please ensure that you spend it within time.
