Operations

Campden BRI are the leader in science and technology for the food and drink industry. We provide practical scientific, technical, regulatory and information support. We're looking to hire a Procurement Manager based at our site in Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire.


Position

  • Negotiate with existing suppliers to identify operational cost savings opportunities and implement within 6-9 months.
  • Building strong relationships with Operational Units to understand requirements and business need.
  • Line Management for 2 Direct reports included talent development.
  • Support team members to ensure effective management suppliers and freight forwarding.
  • Owning and collating procurement data and providing interpretative management reports via internal and external audit/Inspection programmes and report on current and target performance.
  • Review and negotiate terms on all existing contracts.
  • Overview and line management of centralised stores:
  • Plan and execute delivering of an effective procurement strategy and transition programme to meet business needs.

Requirements

  • Proven Senior Procurement experience and ability to be 'hands on'.
  • Procurement qualification and institutional membership e.g.,Level 4 CIPS .
  • Industry experience essential- laboratory or life sciences.
  • Strong communication and ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of working in the food or drink sector is an advantage but not essential.
  • Degree qualified in a relevant subject, with 4 years’ experience in procurement to give the appropriate level of credibility to operate in this broad and strategic role. A higher degree may be an advantage if in an appropriate area.
  • Effective project management skills from recent experience.
  • Effective time management skills relating to effective delivery and business practices.
  • Freight forwarding experience.
