Thermal processing training whenever and wherever you need it.

3 November Press Release

Thermal Processing – Fundamentals is the first course to be offered via Campden BRI’s new On Demand E-learning platform ‘Campden Learning’. Learners can access the same level of expertise and knowledge that Campden BRI training is renowned for, only now they can pause and continue their learning at a pace to suit them, their employer and the demands of their business. Digital delivery means training can be accessed anywhere in the world. Participants are not constrained by time zones and their progress can be saved over several weeks.

Through a range of interactive modules, broken down into bitesize sessions, course participants cover the key areas to consider during the manufacturing of safe heat preserved foods and how to control the important processing steps involved. The course contains around eight hours of content consisting of an introduction, eight modules and feedback. There is a minimum of five and a maximum of eight sessions within each module and content is delivered by Campden Learning’s Thermal Processing Specialists, Gary Tucker and David Whittaker, who have between them over 40 years’ experience in this area. David has an excellent working knowledge of thermal processing across different sectors as well as an exceptional understanding of the theory underpinning it and Gary has deep knowledge of heat processing and process calculation methods, together with a PhD for work related to time-temperature integrators.

Gary comments,

“I’m really excited to be part of this inaugural course offered on Campden Learning’s On Demand E-learning platform and delighted that the initial focus is on thermal processing, as it is fundamental to food and beverage manufacturing.
Knowing that anyone in the industry, anywhere in the world, can access the principles of thermal processing and apply the techniques locally is a significant step forwards in ensuring that quality training is available to everyone in the sector regardless of location.”

The course uses an engaging combination of video, animation, graphics and interactive tools to attract and maintain attention and focus. Learning is reinforced through activities, pairing exercises and knowledge check quizzes. Participants who successfully finish all sessions will receive a certificate upon completion.
