Sales, Marketing, Training & Membership

​Our Sales, Marketing, Training & Membership department oversee all the commercial elements for our organisation: liaising and supporting our technical functions with marketing campaigns, market research, developing key accounts, overall strategy and ensuring our members have added value through our services and consultancy.

We also provide a wide range of training courses from introductions into microbiology, Food Science & Technology, Thermal Processing etc to advanced HACCP and international regulatory courses.

Sales & Account Management Team

You will be part of the Sales & Account Management Team with responsibility for growing technical sales through active business development, targeted campaigns, account management and focused approaches and responses to clients based on their needs.

You will optimise opportunities for revenue generation and sales by providing dedicated business development support to technical colleagues in microbiology as well as building you own portfolio of clients and accounts through to generate incremental growth across the business. 

Position

  • Create and deliver targeted revenue growth through sales, account and general business development activities in your portfolio.
  • Work closely with the Head of Sales & Account Management and directly with technical experts and leads within the business to plan structured approaches to key discipline areas.
  • Provide support to technical colleagues with client visits and new business opportunities and plan structured approaches to target clients with a focus on the biggest revenue generating and highest growth potential opportunities.
  • Maintain records of all account engagements through CRM.

Requirements

  • A results orientated, self-starter with a commercial mindset who is able to prioritise activities in order to achieve targeted revenue growth.
  • Business development/sales, experience; 3+ years, ideally in a consultative, technical sales environment.
  • Experience of selling analytical and technical services to food and drink industry and/or understanding of laboratory and manufacturing in the food and drink industry.
  • Background in microbiology technical services a distinct advantage.
  • A confident communicator with the ability to work with people at all levels within work and client environments.
  • A natural team player with the ability to work unsupervised in a target orientated environment.
  • Degree in science or technology or equivalent professional experience.
  • Full, clean driving license.
