Wines & Spirits Team

Do you have a passion for science and Wines & Spirits? Campden BRI's are the UK's leading centre for wines & brewing- covering all matters related to beer, wine and spirit development, production, and analysis.

Our lab is based in Guildford, Surrey and our growing team offer wine consultancy services to the UK & Global wine industries (winemakers, wineries, wine importers and retailers) including:

·       Wine analysis

·       Bespoke analysis methods

·       Pre and post bottling packages

·       Comprehensive taint investigation service

·       Wine consultancy

Position

  • Work in the laboratory, using wet chemistry techniques to analysis client samples.
  • Sensory tastings of wines and spirits. 
  • Learn new analytical chemistry techniques.
  • Interpret data & create reports.
  • Maintain full and up to date records of all work performed manually and automated, and all aspects of quality control.
  • Calibration, maintenance and daily monitoring of laboratory equipment, e.g. balances, pipettes.
  • Learning new analytical techniques as required.
  • General housekeeping.
  • This is a brilliant opportunity to start your science career within the wines & spirits industry. We are looking to develop this role and there is potential for the right candidate to go through continued professional development with WSET levels.

Requirements

  • ​A degree in Chemistry, MCHEM or masters in Viticulture and Oenology.
  • Work accurately within specified time frames.
  • Computer literate – proficient use of Word and Excel.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Practically minded and able to work in a team.
  • Able to work well in a team and produce accurate work.

Additional information:

  • ​Monday-Friday 8.45am-5.15pm (4.30pm finish Fridays)
